FAQ
What finish do you use on your products?
Every piece of hardwood gets the same treatment — sanded smooth by hand until it feels just right. I finish them with pure tung oil, which soaks deep into the grain and leaves a natural, satin sheen that ages beautifully. Some pieces are also given a wax coat depending on the vibes.
Oil finishes don’t just look good — they’re easy to refresh and keep that warm, tactile character that varnish can hide.
On some toys, I use a process called oxidisation to darken the timber. It involves applying a simple mix of vinegar and steel wool, which reacts with the natural tannins in the wood. You’ll see it most clearly in the pieces with hearts or flames stained into the surface.
Basically: I like wood that feels like wood.
What about our canes?
Rattan is strong, flexible, and full of personality. Our canes are lightly sanded and sealed with polyurethane varnish for a smooth, protective coat.
Natural rattan is very porous so sealing it with a varnish makes it safe to use with multiple partners.
What the heck is rattan?
Rattan isn’t timber — it’s a climbing vine that grows across Asia, Africa, and parts of Australia. It’s flexible, lightweight, and can take a serious swing without breaking a sweat.
Each cane has its own quirks and grain, which means no two are ever truly identical. That’s part of the fun.
Do canes break?
The short answer is yes, canes can break.
Rattan is strong and flexible but it’s still a natural material - it's not indestructible. Every cane has its limits. The two most common ways they meet their end are overbending and hitting something too solid (think table edges, frames, or any furniture that accidentally gets in the way of a good swing)
It’s worth remembering that rattan doesn’t like to be flexed without purpose. Waving it around in the air might look fun, but it actually stresses the fibres more than using it on a real target.
Bottom line: keep your cane aimed at flesh, not furniture, and it’ll stay by your side for years.
What’s the deal with The Glaive?
The Glaive stands out from the rest of the lineup. Built from stainless steel pipe that’s hand-bent and shaped into a blunt, knife-like form, it’s paired with a hardwood handle for the perfect mix of weight, balance, and bite.
It can be used for impact and electro play. The steel conducts electricity, making it easy to pair with an e-stim unit to deliver sensations that range from a light tingle to a sharp little zap, depending on how bold you’re feeling.
Safety note: Always start low and slow with electro play. Avoid using near the heart, on the head, or on broken skin. A little caution keeps things fun and safe for everyone.
